Swim Meet Info for 5/30

Good Evening Wynfield Families,
Tomorrow is our first meet! We have had a busy first few weeks of practice and we cannot wait to see what your swimmers do in the pool tomorrow!
Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any questions or last minute changes in availability for your swimmer. Here's everything you need to know for tomorrow's meet:
WHERE: WYNFIELD POOL (Home meet)
WHEN: Friday, May 30, 2025
ARRIVAL: Plan to arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 to check in with coaches. You will check in with the coaches according to your last name:
- A-D: Coach Tiffany
- E-F: Coach Adriana
- G-K: Coach Jack
- L-M: Coach Mitchell
- N- SH: Coach Wilson
- SM-Z: Coach Lily
MEET SCHEDULE:
- Warm-ups: Warmups for Wynfield begin at 5:00. We will warm up in 2 quick sessions tomorrow.
- 10 & Under: 5:00-5:10
- 11 & Up: 5:10-5:25
- 5:25-5:50: Warmups for Highland Creek
- 5:50: Clear the pool and National Anthem.
- 6:00: Meet begins. Projected end time is close to 9:30/10:00pm.
PREPARING FOR THE MEET:
- Write your swimmer’s name (first and last) and age on their right shoulder/upper back.
- Mark their events on their arms or the back of their hands. (Heat sheets will be emailed out and posted on our website by 2:00 pm tomorrow. Entries will also be visible on the SwimTopia App by that time.)

WHAT TO BRING:
- Warm clothes! Today's meet is going to be chilly once the sun goes down, so PLEASE pack extra towels and warm clothes! Keeping muscles warm between events helps improve times and prevent injuries. Please encourage your swimmer(s) to bring and wear sweatshirts/pants, parkas, dry towels, etc. between events!
- Team Suit
- Goggles (and extras if you have them)
- Cap
- DRY TOWELS (pack extra!)
- Healthy Snacks
- Water
- Deck chairs for the adults
*REMINDER: NO GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED ON DECK
AT THE MEET:
- Please help your child set up a space in our team area. We really need parental support for this. It is very important that swimmers sit together to support each other and to make sure they don't miss an event.
- Volunteers will check in at the volunteer table.
- Concessions available include: Pizza, chicken tenders, hot dogs, chips and candy. Payments accepted are cash and venmo.
- Please DO NOT leave if your swimmer is in a relay. If a swimmer must leave early, please notify Coach Tiffany as soon as possible so that we try to prevent scratching relays.

Marking your swimmer:
Mark the arm as illustrated below in the picture in the order of Event/Heat/Lane/Relay Leg. Write on clean dry skin with no sunscreen. It is best to do this the night before in order to minimize sunscreen washing it away.
- Find your child’s race information on the Heat Sheets, the entry sheets, or the SwimTopia App.
- Label your swimmers with a black sharpie with their race details.
- On their forearm, mark their event information: (See further below for Stroke labels)

(E = event, H = heat, L = lane). For relays, add a slash followed by the position on the relay after the lane# (1, 2, 3 or 4)

A few notes that are unique to tomorrow's meet:
- Weather: We know that tomorrow's weather pattern is questionable. If at any point there are any changes to the schedule below we will push out notifications immediately. Please be patient with us as we do our best to make the best decisions possible for all involved.
- Entries: As coaches, we do our best to set the team up to succeed while honoring where our different swimmers are. While we do our best to get every swimmer in a relay, we are not always able to do so. If you have any specific concerns about entries please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
