Meet your 2018 Waves Coaches!
Head Coach: Tiffany
My name is Tiffany Saborido and I am excited to announce that I will be joining the Wynfield Waves swim team this year as the Head Coach! I was introduced to the team last year as a mom, and am thrilled to get to work with all of the returning swimmers that I met last year, as well as new swimmers and families that will be joining us this year. My love for swimming began at the young age of 5 when I began to swim competitively on a summer team in Western Kansas. I eventually began swimming year-round, and also swam for our High School team. Swimming has always been a huge part of my life, and I look forward to being able to watch young (and not-so-young!) kids develop and cultivate a love for this wonderful sport this summer! I am joining the Wynfield team with experience with working with kids both in and out of the pool. I have been a teacher for 14 years, and have spent the last 4 years teaching Middle School Spanish at the Community School of Davidson. For 2 of those years I have helped with our High School Swim team as an assistant coach. Prior to working at CSD I taught Spanish and coached the HS Swim team at Vance High School in Charlotte. I am looking forward to a fun summer filled with the excitement that comes with learning new skills, improving on old ones, and celebrating successes with teammates!
Hi, I'm John Brown, a senior at Hough High school, and I'll be going to LSU in the fall. I've been on the Waves since 2006 and loved swimming ever since. This is my first year coaching and I couldn't be more enthusiastic and excited! I'm really looking forward to helping the swimmers have as much fun, if not more, than I've had over the past 12 years.
Hi my name is Brianna Wike i am 17 years old and am graduating from William Amos Hough High School this school year. This is my 13th year as a Wynfield Waves swimmer and second year as a coach! I have been a competitive swimmer for 12 years. I swam for Swimmac Carolina until i was 13 and i currently swim for Enfinity out of Winston Salem as well as my High School team.
Hi! I am 18 years old and a graduating from Community School of Davidson. I have lived in Wynfield my entire life, swam year-round for 13 years, and did summer league from ages 5-13. Summer league is what initially cultivated my love for swimming, so I am very excited to have the opportunity to instill the same passion for the sport in other Wynfield swimmers! In addition to my swimming experience, I taught swim lessons in 2014 through my club team, MAC, life-guarded at Wynfield Forest in 2015, and life-guarded at Birkdale in 2016. I am also a volunteer at the Cornelius-Davidson Child Development Center and a current swim instructor at MAC. I am looking forward to a great summer with all of you!
