Tonigh'ts Swim Meet-Heat sheets and meet info.

(Quick reminder--NO PRACTICE TONIGHT FOR SPEEDY MEET SWIMMERS)

The meet for tonight is live in SwimTopia! I'm also attaching 2 documents:

1. An individual entry list. You can find your swimmer by last name with a list of their events with heat and lane assignments.

2. The heat sheet. You can use this document to view all entries in the meet.

Both of these documents are also available on our website.

Here are a few quick reminders about today's meet:

WHERE: WYNFIELD POOL--HOME MEET!

WHEN: Thursday, June 20, 2024

ARRIVAL: Plan to arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 to check in with coaches.

Warmups begin at 5:00.

RELAYS: We have a number of swimmers "swimming up" in relays tonight. We have 6 years olds swimming with our 9/10 year olds, 9/10 year olds swimming with our older swimmers, etc. I tried to talk with most younger swimmers affected by these decisions this morning, but some changes happened late this morning as we needed to adjust entries do to injuries and illness. Please double check your swimmer's events and let us know if you have any questions.

EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS OR LAST MINUTE CHANGES TO [email protected].

MEET SCHEDULE:

  • Warm-ups: Warmups for Wynfield begin at 5:00. We will warm up in 2 quick sessions tomorrow.
    • 10 & Under: 5:00-5:10
    • 11 & Up: 5:10-5:25
  • 5:25-5:50: Warmups for MacAulay
  • 5:50: Clear the pool and National Anthem.
  • Meet begins at 6:00pm. Projected end time is close to 9:30/10:00pm.

PREPARING FOR THE MEET:

  • Write your swimmer’s name (first and last) on their shoulder/upper back.
  • Mark their events on their hands or arms. (Heat sheets will be emailed out and posted on our website by 2:00 pm tomorrow. Entries will also be visible on the SwimTopia App by that time.)

*If you are new to swimming or need a refresher on how to mark your swimmer, see specific instructions below.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • WATER--and EXTRA WATER!  Tonight will be the warmest meet of the season, and keeping our swimmers hydrated is a priority! Please make sure your swimmer(s) have plenty of cold water on hand. Fresh fruit (grapes, watermelon, etc.) are also great ways to get natural sugars and extra hydration into your swimmers!
  • Team Suit
  • Goggles (and extras if you have them)
  • Cap
  • DRY TOWELS!
  • Healthy Snacks
  • Deck chairs for the adults
  • *REMINDER: NO GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED ON DECK

AT THE MEET:

  • Please help your child set up a space in our team area. We really need parental support for this. It is very important that swimmers sit together to support each other and to make sure they don't miss an event.
  • Volunteers will check in at the volunteer table. ALL timers (1st and 2nd session) need to attend the timers meeting that happens prior to the start of the meet.
  • Concessions available include: Jet’s Pizza, Publix chicken tenders, chips and candy. The Kona Ice Truck will be here as well. Payments accepted are cash and venmo.
  • Please DO NOT leave if your swimmer is in a relay. If a swimmer must leave early, please notify Coach Tiffany or Coach Kristina as soon as possible so that we try to prevent scratching relays.

Marking your swimmer:

Mark the arm as illustrated below in the picture in the order of Event/Heat/Lane/Relay Leg. Write on clean dry skin with no sunscreen. It is best to do this the night before in order to minimize sunscreen washing it away.

  • Find your child’s race information on the Heat Sheets, the entry sheets, or the SwimTopia App.
  • Label your swimmers with a black sharpie with their race details.
  • On their forearm, mark their event information: (See further below for Stroke labels)
E

(E = event, H = heat, L = lane). For relays, add a slash followed by the position on the relay after the lane# (1, 2, 3 or 4)
