Wynfield Week of June 10
Week of 6/10
Wynfield Families,
Thank you to everyone who helped make Thursday night run smoothly despite our unexpected early finish. We appreciate you!!! This week we will shift to our summer schedule. We will hold morning practices Monday-Thursday. We will hold afternoon practices Monday-Thursday on days that DO NOT have meets. Swimmers should only attend ONE practice each day. If at all possible we do request that try to make the morning practices. In the afternoon we are not able to divide our practices by age, and we must share the pool with neighborhood pool users, which limits our space. With such a large team this year, the more swimmers we can get to the morning practices, the better it will be for all swimmers!

Speedy Meet Swimmers: This week coaches will continue to reinforce skills for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. For swimmers who show a basic understanding of these strokes, we will begin introducing butterfly.
10 & Under: On Monday and Thursday we will focus much of our time on starts and finishes. On Tuesday and Wednesday our main focus will be on butterfly and breaststroke.
11 & Up: On Monday and Thursday our focus will be on starts, turns, and finishes. We will specifically be working on tightening up our streamlines and underwaters. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be working on endurance.
A few other items:
- Swim meet declarations: please declare your swimmer(s) for the remaining meets. All athletes should be declared no later than Tuesday, 6/10 for this Thursday’s meet.
- Please make sure you have joined the Wynfield group on the Remind app. If/when we have weather delays or cancellations at meets and/or practices, this is our main means of communication. https://www.remind.com/join/wynfie

- Cap
- DRY TOWELS!
- Healthy Snacks
- Water
- Deck chairs for the adults
- *REMINDER: NO GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED ON DECK
AT THE MEET:
- Please help your child set up a space in our team area. We really need parental support for this. It is very important that swimmers sit together to support each other and to make sure they don't miss an event.
- Volunteers will check in at the volunteer table. ALL timers (1st and 2nd session) need to attend the timers meeting that happens prior to the start of the meet.
- Concessions available include: Jet’s Pizza, Publix chicken tenders, chips and candy. The Kona Ice Truck will be here as well. Payments accepted are cash and venmo.
- Please DO NOT leave if your swimmer is in a relay. If a swimmer must leave early, please notify Coach Tiffany or Coach Kristina as soon as possible so that we try to prevent scratching relays.
Marking your swimmer:
Mark the arm as illustrated below in the picture in the order of Event/Heat/Lane/Relay Leg. Write on clean dry skin with no sunscreen. It is best to do this the night before in order to minimize sunscreen washing it away.
- Find your child’s race information on the Heat Sheets, the entry sheets, or the SwimTopia App.
- Label your swimmers with a black sharpie with their race details.
- On their forearm, mark their event information: (See further below for Stroke labels)
| E | H | L |
(E = event, H = heat, L = lane). For relays, add a slash followed by the position on the relay after the lane# (1, 2, 3 or 4)
