Weekly announcements
Dear Parents and Swimmers,
I hope you have all had a great weekend! Congrats to all swimmers who are finishing up school this week, and especially to all those graduating and/or moving up to Middle School, High School, and beyond!
Re-cap from last week:
Week 2 was just plain stormy! Thank you to all who stepped up and helped with speedy meet assessments and time trials. These 2 days were the only days we were able to avoid afternoon thunderstorms, and your willingness to stay a bit late to get them done is very much appreciated!
Congratulations to all of the speedy meet swimmers who participated in yesterday's meet. Despite our lack of pool time, the kids were amazing!
Preview for this week:
Practice this week is Monday - Wednesday, 5:30-6:30 and 6:30-7:30. This week's schedule will be very similar to last week's plan since we didn't get a chance to really practice last week.
10&unders: starts, backstroke, and some breastroke (time permitting)
11&up: continue break-out groups with a large group focus on starts, turns, and breaststroke.
Important annpuncements:
*Regular Meet on Thursday 6/7(River Run @ Wynfield). No practice on Thursday because of meet. Please look for an email from me on Wednesday with details about our first meet. You should plan to be to the pool by 5:00 for warm-ups.
*Meet Sign-outs: If your child will NOT be swimmimg on Thursday, please sign them out no later than Monday at 6pm. I will be finalizing meet entries Monday evening, and it is important that I have the correct swimmers marked to put together relays.
*Drink Donations: if you are dropping drinks off, please label them Wynfield Waves so they do not get stock in the neighborhood concessions stand. Reminder to sign your swimmer out for this weeks meet by end of Monday.
*Speedy Meet on Sat., 6/9 @ Peninsula Yacht Club
Final Thoughts....
A few more items to keep on your radar:
1. Illness: If your child is sick, please follow school procedures of being at least 24 hour fever/vomit free before allowing himģher to return to practice. This helps to not spread illness, but is also in the best interest of the recovering swimmer.
2. Severe weather: If we are at the pool and have to stop practice, we need to clear the pool AND the deck. Please help us with this by gathering your belongings and children as quickly as possible and making sure that the young swimmers don't migrate to the baby pool.
I hope you all have had a good weekend, and I look forward to seeing you this week! Let's all cross our fingers for a storm-free week!
~Coach Tiffany
